Well, things are still crazy on the new team. being gone for a week didn't help. Surprised? No, me neither.
I'm not sure what I need to do for my next steps in order to corral the flow of work... tidal wave is likely a more apt description. The team isn't looking far enough into the future nor are they able to do so, let along work in areas not directly related to the workload. I would truly prefer they had the time to learn other applications and work outside of the team and division. These are one of the nicer traits of my current job of which everyone should be able to take advantage
    Other things:
  1. had a delightful day off with slavetopurple in the morning and early afternoon.
  2. had a similarly nifty evening with lady_fox in the evening.
  3. Seared tuna at Ocean Grill.
  4. I have a CD of scanned film images at Camera Company to pick up today. I'm scared! Did they turn out?
  5. I do enjoy shooting film but it makes remembering to complete photog_xp themes more difficult.
  6. D00d, have you seen some of that groups photos lately?
  7. Things are looking good for the next few weeks.
  8. I may shoot more film. I have 5 more rolls!

And randomly, I met another Madison Flickr guy - GrizzledAdam - who knew me from there. He shoots with a rangefinder too - a FED 2, which was the precursor to and eventual brother camera of my Zorkii. We chatted for a good while when I dropped off my film yesterday. It was cool and he wants in on the next photo walk.

Yes. Photowalks. hmm...

Know what's also great? Not being in Texas.

In my techno lust yesterday, I remember my employer's awesome computer loan program (divide cost over 2 years, auto withdrawal from paycheck). Damn it. Should I get me a new, snazzy Macbook? I have filled the old hard drive... I would LOVE the SD slot, extra memory, dual graphics card, dramatic increase in processor power.....

Man.. Aperture MACHINE.

Don't forget the new battery life!!!

Question: Stripping netbook and running it with Linux...faster or slower?
abmann From: abmann Date: June 9th, 2009 05:50 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yes, 7 hours battery life = sexy fun times.
It would cost me less than $100 a month to buy this laptop with my employer's loan program. Interest free. And I could sell my current MBP for like $700 still because it is so awesome.

Re: Netbook - Depends on the distro. I hear OS X, Windows 7 and Ubuntu are the best Netbook OS's currently. Maybe Ubuntu.

Your biggest problem is going to be finding a graphically intensive 7 hour long porno.

There's been a lot of talk around these parts about a new laptop and/or netbook. The race to the bottom makes my head hurt. I'm trying to figure out if a netbook would be feasible.

Uh.. La Blue Girl series. Duh...

Feasible for what? What do you want out of the netbook/laptop?

Now that you know how enjoyable Mondays off can be, how will you ever go back?
