More Frosting, Please
Originally uploaded by ABMann
I have a sugar problem, see. If I don't constantly watch my sugar intake, I start eating sweets every night in mass quantities. This is super bad, especially when the ice cream cravings start. They hit about a week ago and I've been over-indulging pretty much every night since then. No good.

I have realized this week, though, that I am more likely to do so at home than at other places, just like a junky. I get the obsessive mind too with it. Just like a junky. After rehabilitation, junkies are encouraged to leave their old lives behind to avoid those places where they would regularly shoot up. One, because the place would encourage desire for drugs. Two, because after detox, a junkie has lower tolerance, and returning to a place associated with drug use, they are likely to use similar quantities from before and over dose.

So, if you find me with an ice cream cone jammed into my veins one of these days, know that I died from only the best sprinkles.

Also, I'm having lots of erotic dreams these days. I'm only mentioning it because you've likely been in them. And it was totally hot. See you tonight. >:)

alyska samples the cake frosting lady_fox made for her birthday on the 17th. She appreciates it as you can tell.
Random: I figured out why I had to get larger boxers and my pants are fitting funny - I've maxed two of the leg machines at the gym. Can I say how gratifying it is that too much muscle is the problem?

It is delightful.

I actually kind of envy the problem you have with sweets. I tend to eat nothing sweet for days and, as a result, whenever I eat anything high in sucrose, I undergo a coma from that high level of sugar. I need to chew a piece of candy every once in awhile to keep me regular as a result.

I'd take your control over my total lack thereof!

I try to make up for what I KNOW I'll want with what I know I'll EAT. So I get some fruit and cheese in quantities I can munch on and then a tiny container of ice cream.

I can't even do that. Well, I shouldn't is probably more accurate. Just a little will set me off into the darkness.

And we all know what happens in the darkness....

The kitchen is a problem in the evenings in general. At work my food intake is pretty controlled, I only eat what I bring and I don't bring change for vending machines. If I'm not careful I'll eat because I'm bored or emotionally needy or feeling indulgent in the evenings.

It helps to not have sweets around much. Pne helpful thing we've been doing lately is making our own trail mix. Lots of banana chips, high-quality dark chocolate, nuts, peanuts, raisins. It has crunchy, chewy, sweet, and salty bits, along with some fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. It will kill all cravings DEAD and since we pre-portion in snack-size ziplocks (about 1/3 of the way full) it's easy to stop after eating a resonable amount. We don't buy ice cream or anything any more, just have trail mix when we're jonesing.

Trail mix is a good idea. I need to clean out the cupboards and make some.

mm... banana chips.

Yup! Donate a bunch of sweets to your co-workers or something. I buy a bunch of bags of the various ingredients at woodmans (the big bag o nanner chips is like a dollar) and mix it up in a big stew pot, use a little cup to portion it out. It's like $20 all told once you buy all the ingredients but it is the BOMB.

Plus then you can play with combinations. Banana chips are awesome with dark chocolate.

I could go for some banana chips right now. I think Copps has them in their bulk aisle... hmm... but which Copps. I bet the good one has them because ity is the "good" one. Darn less than good Copps. I JUDGE THEM HARSHLY.

Which Copps is the good one? I like the one by my house.

The one on Whitny has the best bulk section of the ones I've seen.

i do like the University Ave location because the booze is right out in front. :) but think they're funny because they set it up to feel just like Whole Foods.

my alcohol

You know I've noticed that just like an alcoholic can't have "just one drink," I can't have just one sweet. If I have a brownie at lunch, I'll get massive cravings and then I'll have another, and then grab a cookie, and then get into my chocolate stash, and then when I get home I'll decide it's time to make sundaes, and the next thing you know I've had quadruple the dessert limit or more.
So I've just pledged not to have sweets during the day, not before dinner. It's easier to fight the cravings when I know I'm going to bed in a couple hours.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets sugar cravings like that.

I am a sucker for red heads, so yeah. :)
You say "slut" like it is a bad thing. That's unfortunate! I consider myself an ethical slut in my lifestyle.

There's much more than proclaiming yourself poly. :/ You have to actually, you know, be honest and straight-forward. From what I gather about your ex, he may not be so good with either.
