Friday at 7 is the first Obama/McCain debate. lady_fox and I are attending an art opening with alyska and jeffreyp.
I was all, "Oh no! We're gonna miss the debates." To which Fox reasonably replied, "We can record it."
Yay DVR but my response to that was:
"It'll be hard to avoid spoilers though!"

Um? Srsly? As if who wins the debate will be like finding out who the half-blood prince is before the book release.

So excited for the debates though. OMG.
List of debates.
I'm even excited for the VICE presidential debates.

Current Mood: melancholy

I look forward to the Vice Presidential Debates too! I think it's going to be entertaining.

My political link of the morning: Germany bitchslaps America for asking for money in the bailout.

Hilarous! Um.. sort of.

Ii think the government should just directly buy the bad mortgages instead of giving the money to the companies to disburse. They could secure the mortgages for a super low rate and help stabilize a lot of the market.

It's the difference between trickle-down versus bottom-up economics. Can you tell if I"m a replicrat or democon? :)

I think watching Palin show the world what a dolt she really is will be hilarious. As long as Biden keeps his game on, which he has proven the ability to do. I want to see Palin when she's not surrounded by people who loved her before she walked into the room. Her supporters cheer her on, with little regard as to what she's saying. Mind you, that's what they're SUPPOSED to do and the Democrats do the same damn thing for Biden.. but at least Biden has shown us all before that he's taken International Relations 101.

(hell, *I'VE* taken International Relations 101.)

I have a hard time seeing how the government taking over the mortgages is Evil. But I also come from a county where "Marxist" is a compliment, so I won't deny that my point of view is a little skewed.

Hmmm

I think this is going to be a tough one. The current economic crisis is a strong suit for Obama, if biden can keep the debate there it should be a win.

There are a lot of traps Biden can fall in, he has been known to let his emotions get out of control and say stupid shit... If Palin engages a strategy to do just that it could end poorly for the dems.

Re: Hmmm

I think Obama will rub off on Biden. but his fury may not be a bad thing if he can sublimate that into Passion.

I also believe Palin won't be able to run away from all the crazy things she's been avoiding these last few weeks. The debates could be very, very bad for her.

Jeremy and I were thinking of going out to a bar to see the debates in the same way some people go out to watch sports events.

Seriously - why is it on a Friday night? Are they hoping the young people won't be staying home to watch?

I dunno. PBS is hosting it.

Fox and I are going to try to get up early and watching before market on Saturday.
