Nature was cooperating.

Yeah, but even pretty scenes or things can be difficult to capture on film.

Nah. Sunsets are easy to catch. :) They don't move too quickly.

Yeah, but the light's coming from a long ways away. I'm under the impression that photographing the sky is somewhat tricky, though that might just be stars and quick things like lightning.

Ooh, those colors are fantastic! Is that shopped?

A bit. Upped the color and vibrancy. That's what it looked like over us though. Some of the color translation is lost from sky to camera to computer to web.

I hear that. It can be very frustrating trying to photograph or scan art and get it to come out looking remotely accurate online, I imagine it's all just a different end of the same camel.

WOW. Just, WOW. This is absolutely gorgeous - the crispness of the grass against the fire-and-water sky is absolutely amazing. I would love a print of this. You should really submit it to National Geographic for their photo contest!

National Geographic photo contest?

If you give me your email address, I'll send you print sizes and costs.

Where do you go to print your pictures? I've been meaning to print some of mine to fill up my empty frames.

I might also be interested in a print of this photo, even if it meant I was copying antarcticlust. :)

I sent you a price list yesterday using the evil LJ messaging tool. Did you get it?
antarcticlust From: antarcticlust Date: June 10th, 2008 03:30 am (UTC) (Link)
You could try this , because it looks like the contest isn't open right now (one finished but the next hasn't started).

You can e-mail me at antarcticlust at livejournal dot com, and that will get to my e-mail (then I'll e-mail you back and you'll have it. :)

This is absolutely gorgeous! If I had any money, I'd totally want this one. It's stunning. Nice work.
