Jinxed Diptych

I rarely delete any photos I take in the event that, six months later, I look through the old stuff and divine an interesting way to present OK photos. Or, in this case, a fun way to display blurry photos of my goofy friends.

Whatever works, you see. I find poking fun at my friends tends to keep things interesting around here.

From Wikipedia:
A diptych (pronounced "dip-tick" IPA: [ dip'tik] (or US: [ 'dɪp.tɪk ]) from the Greek δίπτυχο [ ði'pti.xo ] di- "two" + ptychē "fold") is any object with two flat plates attached at a hinge. Devices of this form were quite popular in the ancient world, types existing for recording notes and for measuring time and direction. The term is also used figuratively for a thematically-linked sequence of two books.

How many points is it worth?

Depends on where you place it - I mean, if you hit a triple-word-score, that's a bare minimum 60 points, plus the 50-point bonus for being a bingo, so that makes 110 easy.

Is that all? You should throw a "Q" or two in there and claim archaic English.

Hmmmm.....remind me not to become a friend of yours - I have this camera-shy thang, and goofy pictures of me could irrevocably damage my disillusioned view of myself....

On the other hand, I'm impressed with your work - do you do portraits?

::smile::

No - really - I mean both, but with various twists of subtleties. Live conversation is much easier with me...too bad I only got to talk to you for about 10 minutes at the Hookah before I had to go to work..... :D

(And yes, I'm aware of the irony of using my "real-live-photo-of-me" icon for this post!)

In her case she made the silly faces. That spells doom around me. :)

I'm happy to do portraits. I generally charge per photo because of differences in post processing; each photo benefits from different edits. Don't worry, though. I'm cheap!

I find seeing ourselves doing human things keeps grounded. I hate that I'm human so it's important to remind myself every occasionally.

HA!

I need to remind myself that when I was 3 I was constantly posing for the camera - silly, happy, goofy, trying to make an impression of who I was.

I guess it's my 'maturity' that's gotten in the way and criticizes photos for not being "accurate and complete" reflections of who I am.

As if a single photo could capture such complexity. :D

Life is in the details...
Thanks for the reminder!
