Skirmish Room

Skirmish Room

I'm holding a war room today for my team in a building-designated
space. Most pathetic war room ever; more a "brief skirmish" room if
you ask me.

4 workststions and seating for a dozen. Note that there isn't table
space for twelve...

I spun out on the ice three times driving to work today. I live two miles away. My car is not so good in ice.... Seriously contemplating getting a new car tis spring because, wow, it's getting worse. Plus, I had to scrape the inside of of the windows to see anything. Just pathetic.

Sigh. Stupid cars. Just gotta get to the Verona campus and then I can take a bus.

The madisonwi community has dozens of "oh crap, ice!" driving posts. Maybe it isn't my car and it is, in fact, the ice-covered world.

Can't you switch to new treads to see if that'll help or is it more than just that?

I recall a war room like that many years ago: ours at least had a printer!

I doubt its the treads. I replaced my tires last year. My car is REALLY light and the roads are, quite seriously, ice right now. Sheets of ice. Did you see my ice pictures? The roads are worse than the trees and cars.

No, I was not made aware of these fabled Bunnyman ice floes. Were they recently put on Flickr?

Yup. I posted a few of them two days ago too. Not the streets specifically but pictures of the ice. We're still covered in it.

I see now. By the by, I think these are your best shots yet.

Yeah, they're pretty good. I'm learning better ways to enhance with Photoshop to keep it subtle. I also love the hell out of my 50mm lens and the control I have over bokeh.

On a different note, I found this on sciam.com:

iPod-powering kevlar vests! Yet another thing for your geek want list.

In Maine, we'd always carry 50 lb bags of sand in the trunk in winter. It kills the gas mileage, but adds a nice bit of weight. Plus? When we'd inevitably get stuck in a snow bank or have it so icy we couldn't make it up the drive -- instant friction!!

But it made a big difference -- just remember to take the bags out after the last of the frozen.

Not a bad idea.

*nods*
We Mainers are an industious folk.

And I'd have a bag of sand in my trunk here, right now, if I weren't so lazy and certain of my own invincibility. Folly of youth...

Hey! Is the Nike Sport dingle still compatible with current gen Nanos?

yeah, it works with the current nanos

I hear snow tires do make a difference, even on ice. Also I second adding weight to the trunk. A 25 lb block of clay in my trunk was enough to stop me from fishtailing every time I tried to turn, cut it down to maybe 10% of the time.
