Portrait of a Young Man as The Artist
Bitches trying to screw with this year's election.
Republicans stage walk-out of the House. Nancy Pelosi elected to let the FISA bill expire that extents Bush's ability to wire tap without warrants .

I'm happy to see that shit expire but it looks like Democrats want to extend the current bill to allow time to reconcile with the Senates bill version which includes retroactive immunity from prosecution for said ILLEGAL wiretaps to compliant Telecom companies.

Fuck congress. Screw you and your corporate benefactors and cow-towing to corrupt leadership.
And fuck the people that will vote for McCain for this because "Democrats are weak on national security."

Current Mood: angry angry

The concept of these highbrow people "walking out" strikes me as funny. Who does that at that level of the government? Are they also going to go on strike and protest outside of the White House until they feel like their needs are being represented properly like they wanted?

I could see them going on a hunger strike too. In fact, considering the girth of some of these fat cats, I could see them going on one for a few weeks.

Sorry, I missed what you said. I'm too busy watching things like this...

Holy Shit

I predict Vince McMahon getting a share of this action.

When did the Senate stop being about hiding petulance behind fancy words and start being about petulance with 5 year old behavior?

Careful.. they are watching us.

Ugh. Adults behaving like children, throwing a group temper tantrum.

I agree with you, let it expire.

I also realized, as I was reading my friends pages, I might have to bite the bullet and get involved in a less friendly political northern city.

If what I'm reading at the Times about the number of House Democrats that oppose that immunity provision is true, it isn't getting through the House as part of the bill.

Reconcilliation will need to happen between the House and Senate versions of the bill no matter what Pelosi does. Of course, the House gets to vote on it again after that reconciliation, and if Pelosi wants to shitcan the immunity again, she'll probably have the votes to do it. And given that the Senate Democrats have becomes snivelling cowards on this one, a hatchet job is about the best Pelosi can do.

Psss...everyone knows the NYTimes is just a phlog for dems, hippies, and terrorists.

Why don't you try reading a real news source, know, one with the money to print big colorful graphs and pictures to explain things to real, everyday folk.

Oh, I read them everyday. Or glance at the front page. With them, that's about the same.
