Website design?
Good inexpensive or free website design software? I'm in intending to (finaly) design a photography website so I suspect something flash based is good idea.

I'm leaning away from Adode pretty much because it is crazy expensive to buy Flash and Dreamweaver.

I've poked through Simpleviewer a little and I think it's good but very basic. So I suppose something along those lines. Ability to include descriptions or anecdotes with the photos a plus.

I use UltraEdit, but that's only if you know all the HTML you'll need and don't need the viewer/browser bundled in.

I <3 Dreamweaver. If you know a UW student you can have him or her buy you the educational version for a great discount.

Actually, I have a copy of Dreamweaver on my desktop. It will be far easier to do on my Mac, though, because I have all my photos there. I'd have to transfer them to the old PC to use Dreamweaver.

I also don't think Dreamweaver is all that great either. It's kind of weird when you insert tables and handles nesting poorly.

I think my best option is iWeb which is already on my Mac. :D Mm... iLife.

That's because tables are bad. Don't use tables!

This has been your PSA for today!

Also: Flash = meh. Unless you really know what you're doing, in which case, it can be awesome :)

Ok, you can't say tables are bad and not suggest other ways to do it. what other way to force some order in HTML?

I too am fond of a text editor as your web editor.

That said, ASP.NET is dead easy. Of course, it's windows.

Eclipse is pretty good for Java Server Pages.

PHP can be fun to use.

That is all.
