Thank you so much. I don't get much feedback and don't know if I'm just annoying people with all the photo posts.

Well, the iPhone posts may be too much... :)

that would have been really funny if you'd gotten it, it was funny to see at any rate

I like the sunrise photo, great colouring in that photo

Indeed. It's a nice shot anyway though.

I was sad the sunrise wasn't more spectacular. It was COLD standing there for an hour.

great shots! I especially love the vivid colors in the sunset pic. That, and that's a great candid of Elliot.

Thanks so much for coming last night. It was great to meet you IRL. I hope you didn't feel too left out among all those people who knew each other. :)

Wisconsin Academy issues Call for Artists

The Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters is issuing a Call for Artists from all over the state to exhibit in the James Watrous Gallery of the Wisconsin Academy, located in the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison.

The James Watrous Gallery offers a highly visible, state-of-the-art space on the third floor of the Overture Center, right beneath the building’s landmark glass dome. The Overture Center is located on State Street less than a block from the State Capitol.

Professional Wisconsin artists working in all media are encouraged to apply. Artists selected will be invited to exhibit, with the earliest exhibition opening in spring 2009. Most shows will be in the form of two side-by-side solo exhibitions. Artists must be Wisconsin residents at the time of application and exhibition. Wisconsin Academy policy precludes showing student work.

Applications must be received by March 15, 2008. Artists will be notified of exhibition jury selections by June 2008.

TO APPLY: Artists should include eight slides or eight digital images on a CD of recent work, a resume, a short exhibition proposal, and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of slides or CD.
Images of artwork must be submitted on slides or on a CD. For three-dimensional works, include a full view and a detail.

If submitting images on slides: Only 2" x 2" slides in cardboard or plastic mounts are acceptable. All slides must be identified by the artist's name and a number that corresponds to a printed list with the information for each artwork. The printed list must include the slide number, title of work, date made, medium, and dimensions (height x width x depth). Each slide mount should have a dot that indicates the lower left corner of the work.

If submitting digital images of artworks: Files on CD must be oriented as you wish them to appear when projected. Images must be in "jpeg" format with a minimum of 72 dpi. Images should be sized at 720 wide x 540 high (pixels) or 10” wide x 7.5” high (inches). Each image must be labeled with the artist’s last name followed by a numbering system. Example: Rembrandt_01, Rembrandt_02.

Applicants must submit a printed list with the information for each artwork that corresponds to the images on the CD. This list must include the image number, artist’s name, title of work, date made, medium, dimensions (height x width x depth).

PLEASE SEND YOUR MATERIALS TO:
