Yet more iPhone babble.
iPhone profit margin over %100. (Ars technica)
Sure, if you dismiss, RnD, advertising, distribution and the like.
If that's correct, Apple made about 15 million dollars this last weekend though.

Personally, I'm hoping the price drops a bit in the next few months along with the reduction in bugs. Buy one in six months? Well, it's more a matter of "when" rather than "if."

I'd like it to support flash.

But yeah, I agree. It's like claiming pharmaceutical companies make pills for 2 cents a piece. That's sort of true. The second pill cost them 2 cents to make, but the first one cost about 400 million dollars.

Still, I'd rather spend 300-400$ on a phone with a real keyboard and a stylus.

Exactly. Overtime, though, that margin will be HUGE for them. Really hope they drop the price.

Why don't you like the virtual keyboard?

Personally, I'm cool without it. Touch screen technology is pretty strong now that I don't worry that it would stop working, or break even. I have vague concerns that the keyboard could programatically fail, however Apple has a really strong track record with robust UI.

I hate styli. But then having one hand likely biases me.

I'm afraid my fingers are too big for the virtual keyboard. I can imagine styli issues on your end, sure.

As long as its a luxury type good, (i.e. not life saving medicine or foodstuffs or something) then pricewise, I don't care how much they sell it for. If they sell it for 2000$, and it sells, I'm all for it. Capitalism ftw!

I can see the fat finger worry. Now, how does this differ from other hand-held keyboards though? I suppose you can selectively press when you feel multiple buttons. Would this not get better over time though? Everything has a learning curve.

Plus, some of the apps use a landscape keyboard. :) I wish you could choose what mode to use the apps though. That would be nifty to allow all landscape typing. Lots a room then.

Ditto, yo. I certainly wouldn't pay 2k for one though. Un less is gave really great head. O_O

I never liked touchpads on the grounds that I have sweaty fingers when I get stressed, making meetings very incompatible with my typing skills, while styluses suffer from making two finger typing into one finger letter tapping.

I think the point is much easier to make than that. Do you honestly think that any of the other $600 smartphones (and yes there are plenty of them out there) are sold for any less per unit profit?
