you do know that claritin D 25 hour is just sudafed and claritin right?
those two things can be bought OTC
Just thought I would mention it so you don't have to suffer as much

Sudafed is not OTC in many states because it is the necessary ingredient of Meth

You are correct, Sudafed is harder to acquire now. Often times, you do have to ask the pharmacist for it, and it can also still be found in mixed forms, if for a day you need it and don't have access to claritin D, you can find some tylenol or advil or some types have sudafed mixed into their products still.

Other the counter, and you can still go to the pharmacy and ask for it.
it is still available at truck stops.

If you ask the pharmacist for Sudafed in New York State they enter your name into a national registry of potential drug felons for later investigation. Fun.

Yes fun.
So your doctor can't call in a prescription?
Cause they still can prescribe it and thus it is still available. I realize that negates the OTC part, but we are now talking legality instead availability. I can understand that some people in Wisconsin don't like signing for Advil Sinus due to it having Sudafed. But if you are suffering and aren't a meth dealer, signing for a few boxes is a few seconds. Or suffering the allergy symptoms.
I don't disagree that it is a bit insulting, but inconvenience is due to perception of being miffed about possible being watched. I know I am innocent, so I don't care signing for it. An ex, overused it alot and hated being questioned on his overuse, so was very put out when he had to start signing. [shrug] I guess I see it as him feeling his privacy was violated, but for me, his anger at them was really just him being pissed someone was pointing out his abuse of sudafed as an upper.

I don't know the whole answer. I just offered that the drug was still available. I didn't say it was easy or convenient.

See, the thing is, he CAN'T buy it... they won't sell it to him because he's reached his monthly 'quota'... it's a silly rule that is working to stomp out meth use. *shrug* It's just insanely inconvenient when something like that happens. It all worked out, so it's all good.

okay, I was sure I had an answer for you, but I must be missing something here.
If an Rx is being used, no they won't bill the healthcare, but I don't think that was the problem. Was it that if you go to walgreens, they won't sell you more because you are attempting to use the RX?

What am I missing? Cause I know that here (this city) I have used the solution I suggested. I until a February was on Claritin D.
I wasn't trying to frustrate, I feel like I must be missing part of the problem.

Also, I am glad the solution was found.

:) With the restrictions, you can only buy so much of the stuff a month. Since he's already bought his monthly allowance, Walgreens won't sell him any more. Because he'd be making meth with it. Obviously.

So... it's all good, but somewhat annoying. :)

I know about quantity to purchase at a time restrictions, since they went into place when I was working in the pharmacy. What I am confused about is why he can't buy the OTC parts cause they wouldn't be checking his quota per month and thus stop him from that purchase.

I understand it would cost more. I don't mean to be a pain... I just got really confused of if the issue was RX vs. OTC solution or actually, everyone (shopko, community pharmacy etc) were all going to deny him the OTC option.

I knew all along that any RX can't be refilled on insurance early due to it just being a RX paid membership that is monthly paid. That is for any RX not just controled RX levels 1-III. Anyway...

Yeah, it is annoying that some abuse and the rest must be watched....
