The Piecemeal Man

Wasting my mind,
playing video games
watching trash.
People engage me,
books engage me.

Games break the mind into pieces
and sculpt it like a three-year-old
eating pasta for the first time.
They sap, ions flowing
into lands lacking
in ionic creativity.
It cannot be retreived
when the vessel's radical greed.

There is no On switch,
it is a broken dimmer
that fizzles and burns
when we force God-fire
through it. Unlike
Frankenstein a brain remains
inanimate - an exanimate
masterpiece created
by decades of pixelated barbiturates.

Innovation comes with life
explored; we try to be
mental Magellan's in a world
of Digital Kreskin's.
