The Piecemeal Man

  • Mood:

There's a man I knew,
so Christian in the desert
that legions of women
paraded through his room
like ivory skinned elephants.

He spent most days
praising Jesus as a cow;
Jesus asks him for water
but brings milk in a bowl
fit for kings - curdled milk
shoved through the eye of a needle.
We rest assured
that he does not wish
to crush Jesus with a hammer.
He cannot lift it
from it's place
next to his crucifix.

He will not feed
shepherds in the field
but sates Sisera's appetite
on warm milk
drained from his prized udders.
Her tent is no longer red.
