The Sun has a picture of the sheep cut like poodles.

A friend of mine in high school kept a pigmy goat as a lifelong pet. Most people couldn't tell that it was a goat until she let Buggie's horns grow out.

How are goats as pets? I think it would be fun to walk a goat. :)

Ha ha, even better, you could groom them and then sell the cuttings.

Goats are OK if you have a barn/pasture area for the goat to go free. They're not very good "house" pets. For example, you can outdoor train them (to signal when they need to go and let them out) but you can't indoor train them like cats. The Goats that I've known also HATE pavement and it's like pulling teeth to get them to walk on anything paved.

Dog ownership seems to be really on the rise in Japan. The article cites 15 Million dogs in Japan.

But that's nowwhere near the 73 Million dogs owned in the United States.

Ditto what tytoalba said. Seems like something would be noticeable.

how the fucking hell does one not notice that the pooch they purchased over the internet has cloven hooves? I've never seen a dog with hooves, and I doubt anyone else on the face of the planet has, either.

The Japanese have tentacle monsters, hello kitty and dogs with hooves. Makes sense to me.

So true, so true.

Tentacle monsters are not unique to the Japanese however :)

I think the 30,000 leagues under the sea tentacle monster is pretty cool. Additionally, H.P. Lovecraft's Cthuhlu (sp?) is another great western-based tentacle monster.

However, there's a big difference in the western tentacle monster and the eastern. It seems, in the west, we have abandoned the tentacle monster (most of the references are old) while the Japanese continue to embrace the myth and modernize it. (hentai anyone?)

I will not disagree that the western tentacle monster has seemingly fallen off the face of the earth. Lets not get started on hentai >.> <.<

How about an upsurgence in tentacle moster movies? I always thought a tentacle monster would have made Titanic much much better.

Well, really, anything would have made Titanic better. But a tentacle monster would have been the best option, I think.

Also? Hello Kitty meets Cthulhu; how appropriate.
