Acclaimed artist Todd Hido [flash] will discuss his photographs in an illustrated lecture this Friday evening. Hido is a San Francisco-based artist whose work has been featured in ArtForum magazine and The New York Times. In 2001, he received the prestigious Best First Monograph award from Photo-Eye Books and Prints.
One of Hido's primary subjects is the suburban house, around which he explores themes of home, family, and memory. His evocative images express a disquieting mood, provoking a sense of intrigue, mystery, and unease.
Hido’s photographs are in the permanent collections of the Guggenheim Museum, the San Francisco Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum, and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, among others.
Would anyone like to join me? His work is really interesting. Atmosphereic
