Anyone but.
I poked through the current democratic presidential candidate's websites.
Clinton
Edwards
Kucinich
Obama
---Oops. Left a few out.
Joe Biden
Christopher Dodd
Mike Gravel

Apparently Clinton hasn't officially filed with the FEC.

I don't know too much about most of them, really, except Kucinich for whom I voted in the primary last time. I wasn't impressed with John Edwards before to do any real research, he's too moderate for my tastes. This time through, though. I'm learning more. I think the next presidency is going to be interesting.

In my brief review this morning, I tried to find their stances on the "issues." For me, the key issues are Global Warming and Alternative Energy. Um... only Kucinich has an obvious position. I couldn't find Clinton's stance on anything... go figure. Obama doesn't mention it and neither does Edwards.

I'm also thinking more and more that Obama shouldn't win even though the world likes him. I do like that he takes a stance on corruption and campaign finance reform in congress, I still have huge doubts about him.

And I just plain don't trust Clinton.

Looks like another Kucinich primary to me.
Boo on moderates, even if you are more electable.

Electable. Yeah.

I hope that over the next 18 months or so the Democrats wise up and realize that "Electable Candidate" is just a clumsy, two-word, seven syllable synonym for "Loser". I don't want to see another concession speech given by a Blandy McWafflepants electable candidate. I want to see a dynamic, charismatic winning candidate.

If I wanted to vote for a fictional character, I'd vote assfingers all the way.

really? I think Blandy McWafflepants sounds compelling. What is his stance on pancakes-for-oil in the middle east?
suibhne_geilt From: suibhne_geilt Date: February 27th, 2007 02:49 pm (UTC) (Link)
It's actually tied into his environmental and economic policies. He wants to turn the Arabian Peninsula into a gigantic sugar maple orchard, to reduce the dependency of their economy on crude oil exports, increase COsub>2 absorption to combat global warming, and completely destroy Canada's economy by giving the US a new source of cheap maple syrup for their pancakes.

I don't trust Iran not to nuke those maple trees. Will McWafflepants invade Iran first before planting the sweet, sweet syrup trees?

Like Hillary, I have not yet announced my political intentions for the upcoming election.

My campaign button still reflects my wishes and has for the last 2.5 years.

I'm waiting for a good veep to fall into my lap, this year. Maybe someone like Fritz Mondale, but less of a wuss. Just someone named "Fritz" would do, I think.

What if their last name is Fritz? I knew a Lee Fritz in high school. He was color blind. This is an essential VP attribute.

That's how I'd vote if it was down to them however I far prefer other candidates to either.

You may be crazy. You should find a clip on YouTube to prove to me you're not nuts.

I don't like Clinton either, though I like her more than any potential Republican Candidate.

Say, any chance of you and your lady being interested in the rooms I have to let? I'm gonna hate to have to put my rooms on craigslist and deal with strangers...

We're in a lease until June. But we're really not wanting to live with anyone else again.

I dunno, I like Dodd a lot, character as well as achievement-wise. I might go for Kucinich, but I still can't forget that Dodd was the most vocal advocate on the issue of armor reimbursement for the troops.

My brother's convinced it's gotta be Edwards, he's the most presentable, most likely to beat out whatever the Republicans throw in our path. Clinton or Obama would make a good vice to him. Me? I'm still screwing up my face and praying for that Gore/Obama ticket of my dreams. But I'm becoming increasingly pursuaded that Gore is really out for good, which makes me sad.
