Long Johns

I am becoming more impetuous with my camera. I wandered behind Greenbush Bakery's counter briefly before the clerk came around and snapped this. When she came out, though, she was happy to let me get more. I should have wandered back there and gotten pictures of her.

If you've not had these donuts, please do. Greenbush is on Regent Street, by all the Budget Bicycles and about two blocks west of The Annex. They start baking around noon so they're ready for the evening and bar crowd. Yeah, they smart.

You're becoming fatter just looking at this.

Thoughts on my seminar today to come later.

Yes, actually. Pierced cartilage, small nose stud. A little shorter than me and long hair. White t-shirt under her apron, flour everywhere. :)

I mean. No....

it was the flour wasn't it?

Not in the way you think. It's the passionate disregard for clothing, as in she may have lost herself in it while she was baking. However, this is coming from someone very meticulous in the kitchen.

It applies to paint stains, clay, chalk, and other materials associated with self-expression in a creative form.

so that means i'd be hot covered in darkroom chemistry (and not just a biohazard?)

though yes. i agree.

i also have a soft spot (about 900 calories' worth) for the greenbush's cranberry orange fritters.

I'm pretty sure you're hot irrespective of hazard state but stupidity is certainly a mitigating factor in this particular point of attraction for me.

I really like the blueberry cake but they don't photograph as well.

ah, but you're just blinded by my rather large lens.

not that i personally make a point of covering myself in darkroom chemistry. the lab coat, goggles, and gas mask are just SO much sexier when working with color developer. except for when the machine sparks and starts on fire. but that's another lesson all together.

the blueberry cake is tasty as well, though i've unfortunately not been down there since i lived on vilas a few years ago. i just sigh wistfully as the 6 bus takes me by on my way to work at the bead mines.

Small and weak lens. :P

I can dig the gas mask and goggles. :)

i think that would take my neatnik tendancies to an entirely new level.

and my lens is not small. or weak!

just look at that bellows! (and no snide comments about bellows and hot air, mister. or i'll get all reciprocity failure on yer ass. and stuff.)

THat's a bloody great shot!
You should give a copy to the owners of the doughtnut store!
abmann From: abmann Date: November 22nd, 2006 05:33 pm (UTC) (Link)
I'd thought of that. I'm debating sending them a large one for print or just a digital copy and ask if they want a printable version.
