Hate world. Must destroy
Slept TERRIBLY last night. I spent the whole night tossing and turning and sweating and shivering. I'd say I was sick or possessed but I feel healthy, barring super-allergies recently, and no demon could handle me.

I imagine some is likely due to.. uh.. Hi, I'm Randy. Yeah. It's been a little while. And Weird-Ass Dreams.
W-A dreams consisted of me going to my ten year high school reunion. It was located at a really idyllic farm somewhere around Madison. I remember trying to get photos of the place the second morning but I only brought my crappy point-n-shoot and the batteries were dead. That made me... distraught, I think was the emotion. The first night was the great meeting I spent much of it impressing people with weight loss and photos and annoying other by completely forgetting their names. I kept calling one guy Dave even though he repeatedly told me his name was Chris.

One of the funnier images was of the class president(s). In my dream, twin girls that lived on my street were actually conjoined twins, joined at the head. They decided to get the surgery after college to.. you know, slpit teir brain in half. One sister get really, really fat and gothed out (and gre a foot taller, apparently). The other stayed exactly the same. Everyone was utterly shocked that they split up. I imagine that it was actually like Stuck on You, filled with bad jokes and hilarity over semi-disabled people.
That kept waking me up as well as Electra deciding to sleep on my legs all night. I'd try to turn over in my sleep and fail, wake up, move cat, turn, sleep. That happened... 5 times?
Not happy. Hopefully the coffee that's brewing right now won't suck. Plus it's Friday and that should make things better, right?

Boo-urns. Maybe fridaypoll will be funny.
PS: Iran is now a "crisis!"[fox news ;)]
I think I dislike the current American insistence that Iran is making bombs though everyone else in the world disagrees. Smells like Iraq circa 2003.

Aside to thecoweyed: A friend is asking about "good" translations of The Divine Comedy. Do you know of one that is considered the best translation of the text?

Oh yeah! I watched The Libertine and Corpse Bride this week.
I really disliked both.
Libertine was slow and kind of dull. Though it did function against the established "Hollywood" paradigm in that the character was static (mostly). Plus I really dislike movies that are that kind of blatant sex-related. I dislike people on a fundamental level that act as the Libertine does in that move. Oddly, though.. I love Quills. So I don't know exactly what I dislike about Rochester vs. de Sade.

Corpse Bride was just lame. It was the love story in Nightmare Before Christmas extended to two hours with shitty songs and boring characters. Elfman and Burton dropped the ball what hard on this one.

Current Mood: crappy crappy

Agreed on the bit about Corpse Bride sucking.

Tim Burton has turned from "director" to "disappointment".

Oh, and the re-release of Nightmare (in 3D) looks like it won't stray from that judgement:

Hm, last time I read any part of the divine comedy was in high school. I remember that one translation we had available was pretty good (the translator put some real thought into transferring the metrical scheme to English) and the other one was fairly bad (it was verse, but fairly standard blocks of verse instead of... what was that in, quartets? sextets? I forgets). I unfortunately don't remember who did either of these translations, though. Sorry. :(
