Ahh! Monster!

Molly Monster Molly Monster

ISO 250
f4.5
exp 1/80

I only cropped and adjusted contrast for this picture. Like I said, I can photograph die katzen sufficiently.... providing they aren't movin' around too much at night.

This is Sev's cat.

Also: Yes, I'm aware it's blurry. I like that it's blurry. She's going to kill you and is moving to do so.

Current Mood: bored bored

der Katze, die Katzen.

(the grammar nazi reverts to her native tongue!)

Actually, it's die Katze.... feminine noun. :)

I love German.

Plural?
lady_fox From: lady_fox Date: August 23rd, 2006 06:41 pm (UTC) (Link)
plural is die Katzen. Plural and feminine are the same prefix.
alyska From: alyska Date: August 23rd, 2006 06:54 pm (UTC) (Link)
but it's not a collective noun like one sheep, many sheep(s)

and my langenscheidt's told me so!

Wer unter uns kann die Berechtigung auf dem deutschen Substantiv in der Mehrzahl sein?

ich glaube, daß Grammatik korrekt war.
lady_fox From: lady_fox Date: August 23rd, 2006 07:21 pm (UTC) (Link)
Ja, das glaube ich auch.

Nope, it's not a collective noun, but plural (unless it's in a different case, which just gets crazy) is always die... and feminine (again, unless different case) is die.

Have I mentioned that I love German? :)

Yes, but you haven't mentioned anything about the PHOTO IN THE POST.

I like it. She's a little blurry, but it makes it look like she's movin', getting ready to pounce.

She's a pretty cat, and I like the focus on the chair, too... that's kind of neat.

that's because we liebe Deutsch erste, und Katzen zweite!

and i wasn't arguing the articles -- plural is always die, unless it's das, 'cause then it's das. but feminine nouns that end in -e generally pluralize to -en.

jawohl.

ok... now I'm confused... I think we're agreeing. Right?

Ja, das ist ein Schnitzelbank.

Ah! That song! I'm going to have it in my head ALL DAY!!!

Verdammt! (I have no idea if that's spelled right...)
alyska From: alyska Date: August 23rd, 2006 09:53 pm (UTC) (Link)
i thought the original disagreement was over the noun itself -- is the plural of "Katze" "Katze" or "Katzen."

i said Katzen, you said Katze.

then you talked about the article. die is the feminine article, and the plural, nomatter what the gender of the noun, is always die, correct?

or something.

oy vey is mir.
lady_fox From: lady_fox Date: August 24th, 2006 03:46 am (UTC) (Link)
No. I said the plural was Katzen.

Watch her prepare to slay her enemies!

For people who don't know Mollykat, she has a stuffed hippo and a stuffed mouse that we used to think were her "friends." But we were corrected a while ago, when we observed her lining up her stuffies in a pile in the middle of the floor, and then backing up a few paces and stalking, pouncing and gnashing them.

That chair's also really good for photographs.

Betcha your focus will improve when you get your new glasses and contacts. I used to take the blurriest pictures, until I realized that I was correcting for my poorly corrected vision. Gotta have 20/20 to be able to look through a SLR and get the correct focus.

"Also: Yes, I'm aware it's blurry. I like that it's blurry. She's going to kill you and is moving to do so."

I had my new contacts in.
