I don't rightly know how my cats sleep with me around some days.

I'm getting more and more annoyed that I don't have a tripod. I"ve botched some really great shots because I couldn't stand still. Tomorrow I'm going to get one, damn it. No excuses. Then I'm going back to the terrace anc redoing all the shots that were blurry from Saturday night.
Grr argh!

Then I'm putting in an order to Rainbow Rope... but that has onoly indirect ties to pictures. :b

edit: typing in bed sucks

Current Mood: good good

I know Best Buy has a small cheep tripod. It folds up and can go in your camera pouch (if you have one on your camera case). It's called a desk tripod. It folds up really small and can get to a few feet tall. :)

Best Buy bad. I'm going to pay a bit more for a local company.

I agree... I've completely bypassed taking some shots because I knew they'd be crap without a tripod...

However, I feel like my little camera isn't good enough for a tripod... I mean I don't have this huge camera with all these crazy features and massive lenses. But damnit, there was a great shot of Grant cooking the other night... but the kitchen was a little dim and the flash completely washed out the flame from the gas stove... ugh.

If you're getting a tripod, I HIGHLY recommend getting one with a quick-release plate. Something that attaches to your camera, then you just snap it into place on top of the tripod.

It makes a huge difference in that you'll use it more. You won't have to fiddle around with the little screw at the bottom. Most decent ones have this now.

How big are the plates? Do you leave them attached to the camera?

Around 1.5" x 2", and about 3/8" high. Yes, you can leave them attached - I do at least. Whenever you want to use the tripod, then, you just snap it in place.

That's pretty nice. I'll have to look int that5 and if it will fit in my camera bag. I went with a smaller bag that already distends a bit from my stuffing of the neck strap in it. :)
