Here I Come To Save The Day!!

Don't worry everyone, here's how you should vote. I have ten super computers working 26 hours a day to calculate the perfect voting stategy.

Daryl Bo DeDecker
James Schmidt
Mike Meyer (I)
Mike Caylor, Sr.
Ted Kempkes
Jerry Bach (I)

Now, it may appear to the untrained eye that the computer just told me to pick the people with the funniest name. But don't be decieved. They're supercomputers. They're not like regular computers. They think faster, harder, better than you or even me. Their ways are mysterious and powerful. Like the Jedi.

Antigo Advisory Fluoridation Referendum:
Should the city of Antigo continue to fluoridate the Public Water Supply?
Hell's No, fluoride is what the government is using to control your brains.

Pittsville Referendum:
Allow the placement and/or construction of outdoor wood burning furnaces within the corporate boundaries of the City of Pittsville?
Yes, duh, the place is already called pittsville.

Price County Referendum:
Shall the board of supervisors of Price County be decreased from 21 members to seven members?
Yes, every step closer to a single, life-long ruler is a good one.

Rhinelander Smoking Referendum:
Should the City of Rhinelander Common Council adopt an ordinance prohibiting smoking in most indoor places open to the public including restaurants which serve alcoholic beverages, but not including taverns?
No. A world where a man can't spontaniously combust in a public enclosed place is not a world worth living in.

Wisconsin Rapids Referendums:
Shall the office of city attorney be an appointed office appointed by the mayor?
Yes. See previous answer about the consolidation of power.

Shall the office of city clerk be an appointed office appointed by the mayor?
Yes. See Above.

Shall the office of city treasurer be an appointed office appointed by the mayor?
Yes. See Above.

For any appointed office, shall the Common Council have the authority to combine the offices/officers of city attorney, city treasurer and city clerk as the council deems necessary?
Oh Yes.

School referendums
Mercer School Referendum:
Should revenue caps be exceeded by $250,000 a year for three years on a nonrecurring basis?
Yes. Raising the debt ceiling is the best thing we've ever done.

Northland Pines School Referendum:
Should revenue limits be exceeded by $2.4 million a year for three years for non-recurring purposes?
Yes. See above.

Phelps School Referendum:
Should revenue limits by exceeded by $850,000 a year for three years for non-recurring purposes?
Yes. See Above

Thorp School Referendum:
Should $1.42 million be spent for construction and equipping an addition to the high school?
No. Kids are only in highschool for a few years. If they want to spend a couple hours every day in a building nicer than my apartment then they should just skip school and go to the mall like I did.

White Lake School Referendum:
Should $250,000 a year for five years be spent for capital improvements, special education, transportation and utilities costs?
Yes. Kids need power and backyard durbies to learn.

Wisconsin Rapids School Referendums:
Should the district exceed $8,266,700 for the cost of repairing, replacing and upgrading school facilities and equipment; and refunding outstanding state trust fund loans issued for school improvements?
No. Paying loans is a fools game.

Should revenue caps be exceeded by $1 million a year for five years for curriculum acquisition and technology upgrades?
What the hell is "curriculum acquisition"? Are they going to send undercover spys into other school districts to steal lesson plans? Does it mean buying books? Because you can get books for free. Vote No on prop 11!

Woah. However, the language of the Wisconsin Rapids referendas could be tightened up a bit. That might just be to make other people trip over the words and just vote no, possibly.

As a totally uninformed jerk, this time around, I am doing my civic responsibility and NOT going to vote. I've been paying attention to the student election and not the city one. Shame on me.

You don't want to say stuff like that in this journal. Someone may eat you.

You could easily check any number of local news sites, say wpr.org, and become informed in time to vote after work.

I think this would be the first election that I've _ever_ missed. I'm trying to catch up, so I suppose we'll see what really happens. Work is the busy, though.

Speaking of both "eating" (not me, hopefully) and "after work", I could actually do the Wing Thing today. I know that it's last minute but as of yesterday you were game, so it's worth a try.
abmann From: abmann Date: April 4th, 2006 03:03 pm (UTC) (Link)
yay wings!

When? I assume at BW3.
assfingers From: assfingers Date: April 4th, 2006 03:11 pm (UTC) (Link)
I can make it any time after 4:47. I am officially done at 4:45 and it takes 2 minutes to get there.

(note that I have just learned that I can poll DOWNSTAIRS so if I get off of my can I can vote at lunchtime)

Huzzaah!

Sweet. I'm done at 4. Let's say 5 for wing-age. You may wish to post a call out to wing eaters. You have more Madison friends that may show/want to go.

Re: Huzzaah!

I shall do so shortly!
