Come be insulting to the Irish!
Friday update:

Looks like we're staying in! Whooo! I'll be finding copies of Boondock Saints, Waking Ned Devine, and The Shipping News for a Quasi-Irish Trilogy. lady_fox and I will provide the movies and some whiskey and food coloring. We need other people to bring beer and foodstuffs. We can no longer afford to provide all of the food as we have in the past.

We'll start at 7pm. Come when you can!

NOTE:
If you're coming, please comment here with what you're bringing so there's less overlap.
Also drop a comment if you need directions or something similar.

Sev and I will be there. We'll bring lots of food. We were planning on seeing the Kissers but the tickets are $15. Heck with that!

What can you guys bring?

Does Sev own Boondock Saints?
aetrix9 From: aetrix9 Date: March 16th, 2006 04:06 pm (UTC) (Link)
Sev's got BS - we'll bring it.

Food wise, I have no idea... I don't have time to make corned beef, or I'd totally bring it. I'm sure we'll pick up some bushmills and guinness and drink velvet gloves until we ralph. I'll commit to bringing something hearty - cranberry meatballs or turkey meatballs, probably. AAK! Vegetarians... Change of plans. I'll bring... um... I don't know... Something hot.

I'm NOT going to bring:
- chips/dip
- veggies/dip
- cookies
- soda
- reces pieces

I'll be there with ingredients for Irish car bombs (read: Guiness and Jameson) unless there's something else you'd prefer me to bring?
abmann From: abmann Date: March 16th, 2006 04:24 pm (UTC) (Link)
aetrix9 is bringing Guiness. I was planning on buying Jameson's.
We, as of yet, have little to eat. :)

You know, I remember a certain little green country that also didn't have that much to eat when their potato crops all rotted.

Jerkface.

That's why I'm alive in America.
I have potatoes. I can make soup.
suburbaknght From: suburbaknght Date: March 16th, 2006 04:41 pm (UTC) (Link)
Hmm... food. I'm not that familiar with Irish cooking but I'll see what I can put together. Do you want appetizers, entrees, or deserts? And I'm assuming this should all be stuff thta can be eaten party/buffet style.
abmann From: abmann Date: March 16th, 2006 05:19 pm (UTC) (Link)
Uh? Yes?
suburbaknght From: suburbaknght Date: March 16th, 2006 08:23 pm (UTC) (Link)
Um... okay. I'll take a shot at shepherd's pie, then.

Movie Reqs

If you wanted to kick your irishness up a couple notches, you could add Cowboys and Angels to your movie lineup. Also, there's a film that won the last Boston Irish Film Festival called Boxed that my film contacts rave to me about.

though both are dramas...I do definately recommend the first though.

Beyond that, it looks like I'll just be drinking alone and crying and drinking and crying and drinking until my tears smell enough like beer to attract a party.

Hope you kids have fun! :)

The most irish movie of all time is "The Fugitive".
abmann From: abmann Date: March 16th, 2006 05:38 pm (UTC) (Link)
Why is it so Irish?
andamaroo From: andamaroo Date: March 16th, 2006 06:10 pm (UTC) (Link)
You clearly need to see it again.

IT HAS A PARADE AND EVERYTHING.
abmann From: abmann Date: March 16th, 2006 06:29 pm (UTC) (Link)
I thought it was cuz the bad guy had one arm. I have one arm and am vey Irish so I assume this holds true for everyone, everywhere.

Those guys in Murderball were so fucking Irish.
andamaroo From: andamaroo Date: March 16th, 2006 06:35 pm (UTC) (Link)
I didn't make that connection.

But that guy doesn't have only one arm. He was just acting so well you thought he did. Plus he's not that guy. He's Andreas Katsulas, and he's awesome because he played G'Kar. Also he recently died.

K. Thx. Bye. :)
