I can do them all at once
It's the holidays. Inevitably I start thinking about sin near Xmas, especially when I wonder if I'm on Santa's good list. I know I'm on Mrs. Claus' good list. She's all freaky-naughty.

It's also Friday. I like polls on Fridays, damn it and fridaypoll is defunct.

What's your favorite sin?

Envy

Lust

Gluttony

Describe the ultimate sin machine.

A good reason to like Viggo Mortensen.. besides his rugged good looks:

"I'm not anti-Bush; I'm anti-Bush behavior," said the "History of Violence" star. "In other words, I'm against cheating, greed, cruelty, racism, imperialism, religious fundamentalism, treason and the seemingly limitless capacity for hypocrisy shown by Bush and his administration."

I've been reading up on Scientology since Tom "Crazy Thetan" Cruise keeps cropping up in the news. I'd just like to say that the creation myth of Xenu is amazing.

"Xenu was about to be deposed from power, so he devised a plot to eliminate the excess population from his dominions. With the assistance of "renegades", he defeated the populace and the "Loyal Officers", a force for good that was opposed to Xenu. Then, with the assistance of psychiatrists, he summoned billions of people to paralyse them with injections of alcohol and glycol, under the pretense that they were being called for "income tax inspections". The kidnapped populace was loaded into space planes for transport to the site of extermination, the planet of Teegeeack (Earth)."

-Wikipedia entry.

Quoting things make me look like I have content with minial time involved. Suffice to say that Scientology is fascinating in the same way watching someone fall from a skyscraper is fascinating.

Such weird people.
Cruise is OT IV, I think. Operating Thetan 4 which means that he can find the entreatans.. or thetans, I can't remember, that inhabit our bodies. Their pretty much like engrams, chemical pathways that store memories... but aliens.... Chemical aliens?

Yeah, chemicals. I'd believe they're on some sort of chemicals...

As freightening as it is that L. Ron Hubbard started his own religion - think about this - he started his own religion. From scratch. Yeah, it has lots of pseudo-references to Jungian/Freudian psychology and weird aspects of science dreamed up in the 50s, but...

L. Ron Hubbard made up a religion that has flourished and grown without crazy people (arguable) and drinking cool-aid (debatable).

I think we should use scientology as a case study for the development of religions. It's fascinating.

Nope. I heard that it was amazing though. :) I'm surprised Comedy Central has been shut down yet.

I think I prefer that. The first time 'round, I got a sloppy kiss from andamaroo. I don't think he can hold a candle to you.
