Portrait of a Young Man as The Artist
(Coffee) Red


I read this weekend of a rather bold experiment with the tan leather iPad SmartCover. The author was, as am I, generally displeased with the patina developing on the covers. Namely, it will only darken in one small area because of how it is carried.

Now, I’ve tried rubbing mine with kiwi oil with little but have seen exceedingly little change in the civet and had resigned myself a slow plod towards an uneven patina.

Well…. This dude had a brilliant idea: rub it with coffee (which I found via Marco.org)

You can see the dark spot along the right edge.



I, of course, had to add my own flair….

I am quite pleased with the final product!

It worked out well AND it smells like coffee. :)
