The Swap

Untitled, originally uploaded by ABMann.

i went to the zoo with alyska and jenx. Of course, I took pictures if them rather than, like, animals or some such.

So, as with all iPad photo editing apps, I want finer control of Black and White conversion channels and a highlight recover option. The highlight detail was last in an edited photo that wasn’t blown in the RAW file.

But, all editors convert to JPG for editing right now. I expect that will change. And soon.

Still, most of my stuff won’t ever be printed or sold, not until I pay more attention to it anyway. And my job is way too busy and awesome for much to change.

So. What am I to do? Be a great dilettante, of course!

That would be
[Error: Irreparable invalid markup ('<lj-user=jenx>') in entry. Owner must fix manually. Raw contents below.]

That would be <Lj-user=jenx>

This is what I get for trying to login from my phone. And as an anon comment, I couldn't edit or delete it! Argh!

Like they manipulate the JPG only? Isn't that counterproductive? Personally, I do the raw work before submission anyway just because it makes it easier for both me and the editor in the end.

Also sympathize on the photos of photographers. There's a lot of spontaneous expression to be found in someone who is so rapt in their work that they do not seem to take care over the sound of a shutter.

Thanks to abmann, I've found that I make ALL SORTS of weird faces when I'm taking photos.

Is it while chimping? If so then I'd find it silly, but if it's while you're taking the shot then I see nothing wrong with that. I'd twist myself like a pretzel if it meant getting that angle I want.

No, I make a concerted effort to stay on the OTHER side of the lens. abmann is one of few that's managed to take pictures of me with any regularity.
