Lawful Neutral Elf Wizard (4th Level) Ability Scores: Strength-… - Portrait of a Young Man as The Artist — LiveJournal

Lawful Neutral Elf Wizard (4th Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 14
Dexterity- 10
Constitution- 14
Intelligence- 18
Wisdom- 15
Charisma- 15

Lawful Neutral- A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs him. Order and organization are paramount to him. He may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or he may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot. However, lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

Elves are known for their poetry, song, and magical arts, but when danger threatens they show great skill with weapons and strategy. Elves can live to be over 700 years old and, by human standards, are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. Elves are slim and stand 4.5 to 5.5 feet tall. They have no facial or body hair, prefer comfortable clothes, and possess unearthly grace. Many others races find them hauntingly beautiful.

Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

FINALLY. No longer Lawful good. Apparently I have become jaded and more selfish since college. Darn you, real world!
Elf? Really?
That Charisma looks a little high too.

Had some bizarre dreams last night involving babies, funerals, shame and my family. No good, very strange. Should have stayed up when I awoke at 4am feeling good rather than sleeping another three hours. I am terrible at getting up when I actually wake up. I should work on that.

I realized this week that I have finally goals I set for myself two years ago.
Some of them, not all as, at least mentally, I do not believe I am thin or a healthy eater.

Pay no attention to the carrots on my desk.

We'll see what happens at lunch, ne?

Reading entries from two years ago s really strange. I don't seem to talk to most of those people after some falling out I.. still can't explain. I expect it is largely my fault but I never fit in too well with that crowd. I'm not a grad student, scientist or devoted enough to a single mental endeavor as they all were - be it science or art. Not that I really fit in well with anyone I know, really.
Which is to say, I probably pay way too much Fallout 3.

Mmmm... Super mutants.

My voice, on the good days, stil sounds as immature though. I suppose that's good? Well, not that anyone reads this any more so I can jabber into the ether how ever I see fit.
So there.

Short sentences ahoy.

Next on the two year-to-do: stop ruining friendships.

I like you, or at least I like the idea of you, seeing as I haven't actually seen you in some time.

That must be the key, then: not actually spending time with me. :)
nathan_lounge From: nathan_lounge Date: July 23rd, 2010 03:56 pm (UTC) (Link)
I can vouch for that!

Also, I support your playing of Fallout 3 up until New Vegas comes out in October.

This is my third time through? I'm finally playing the jerk character. I cleaned out Megaton, Arefu, and The family before Nuking the first. Satisfying. :)

I dislike that you can't always play the loner-asshole otherwise you miss out on half the plot - I had to be useful to get the Hematophage perk, for example.

I want to play through as the ninja/bare fist player some time. Snipers are really fun but I ALWAYS play the sniper.

Who doesn't always want to be the sniper? It's so satisfying!

I had a conversation once about roleplaying games. In it, I basically held the position that it is often the case that the game part gets in the way of the roleplaying part. People just don't naturally hang out in groups of 4 to 6 with perfectly balanced class types and roles. Instead we tend to be either alone or globbed together with people just like us. So if your character is at all reasonable, it probably will either be a loner or want to hang out with the rest of it's soccer team.

And the capital wastes lend themselves to being a loner ass.

Dude, I feel guilty playing an ass in games. Like "I'm a bad person for playing this way" guilty. I WASN'T EVEN RAISED CATHOLIC.

The game we're playing now throws in a lot of choices like that. For example, we have to go find this lost warrior because his mother wants to know if he's dead. We find him and it turns out he's a deranged ghoul eating the bodies of his fallen comrades. He wants us to tell his mom that he's dead. Do you:

a) Agree, and tell his mom that he's dead.
b) Tell him you won't lie and then tell her the truth.
c) Tell him you won't like and then lie to her anyways.
d) Tell him you'll lie if he makes it worth your while.
e) Tell the mother that you have information about her son if she makes it worth your while.

Note that there's no alignment system so the only long term impact of these kinds of situations is how you feel and the couple of extortion options which will some times net you some gold.

Sounds like you should play Mass Effect. Mass Effect's "jerk" paths aren't so much jerky as much as being realist half of the time. Plus the things Shepherd says are so badass half of the time.
abmann From: abmann Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:33 pm (UTC) (Link)
I am concurrently playing Mass Effect. I'm currently pissed because I'm stuck on a planet that won't let me leave even though I'm totally over-matched.
zesty_pinto From: zesty_pinto Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:41 pm (UTC) (Link)
Is it a bug or are they just throwing everything but the sink on you?
abmann From: abmann Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:41 pm (UTC) (Link)
No idea.
zesty_pinto From: zesty_pinto Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:44 pm (UTC) (Link)
I'm curious. What specifically is happening?
abmann From: abmann Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:50 pm (UTC) (Link)
After landing on the planet, I simply can't get the "return to ship" option no matter what button I press. Don't remember which planet.

Have you been picking up DLC and/or fanmods? There's some decent ones of the latter, and if you really want a crutch for playing the ninja, Anchorage offers you a god suit equivalent.
abmann From: abmann Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:32 pm (UTC) (Link)
None of the DLC though, I think, I got the patch that fixes the "you actually die in the end" philosophical bug fix. :)

Any of the packs especially good?
zesty_pinto From: zesty_pinto Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:40 pm (UTC) (Link)
I never went through Broken Steel yet since I'm procrastinating on progressing that part.

Some of the DLC are decent. The Pitt is my fave since it probably has the best idea of gray areas between good/evil, most people recommend Point Outlook since most of the gear in it isn't gamebreaking and it features the most new locations to explore.

If you want gamebreaking though, that's Anchorage: indestructible winterized armor, a gauss rifle that is ridiculously powerful, and a stealth suit that pretty much Stealth Boys you 24/7, not to mention tons and tons of power armor at the end.

You still look mostly good.

Also sounds like you are enjoying mods and/or looking forward to New Vegas.
abmann From: abmann Date: July 23rd, 2010 05:31 pm (UTC) (Link)
What is New Vegas?

Remod of Fallout 3 by the group that's most of the original Fallout team. Even the Fallout snobs are hyping it up.

It'll involve some of the elements of Van Buren, feature things like special moves (VATS suddenly gets good for melee'ers, I guess), modding weapons, and promises a more believable dialogue among other things.

It's the thing I'll be doing come October other than your mom.

People still read here! Your lawful alignment and your love of running make you strange to me, but not less interesting.

i wish you'd ruin our friendship. wtf. i can't get rid of you.
not_a_girl From: not_a_girl Date: July 24th, 2010 03:24 am (UTC) (Link)
What quiz is this? I need to waste some time and avoid people.
annan_dum From: annan_dum Date: July 25th, 2010 06:10 pm (UTC) (Link)
Maybe instead of "stop ruining friendships" it should be "pick better friends." Whenever I find a friendship as been ruined, I find I'm usually relieved instead of disappointed.

Or maybe that's my unconscious mind protecting me from the crippling emotional reality of me being a crappy friend.
