As of 6:24 this morning, I've run 100 miles in June.

Running in the morning is kind of weird. I felt like I was moving really, really slowly. I came in at about an 11:00 pace which is just fine.
And I managed to avoid most of the steep hills around the neighborhood. Nice bonus.

I also learned last month that it is almost a perfect 5k to my office.
Now, to figure out how to run to work. I found the shower. I just have to plant some clothes.


So. What should I shoot for in July? Maybe 130 miles? That's only an extra 1 mile a day....

Congrats dude! That's awesome.

I'm most impressed that you manage to find the time it takes to run 100m this month. Even when I was able to run every day, I really couldn't spare the time to do long runs consistently. I'll probably go out this afternoon just to make my 50.

Also, are you going to eat 172 donuts?

It helps that both Fox and I make it a priority because, really, I'm a much happier person when I run regularly. Though the house is a bit dirtier than it would be otherwise.

You know, that donut meter needs more info. What kind of donut? Glazed? Sprinkles? Cake? Does it have to be a pink frosted donut?

Hmm....at an average pace of about 5mph, that would only take me 20 hours. It's probably unrealistic for me to run for 20 hours straight at 5mph, so figure some run/walk going on in there. That'll probably take me to about 30 hours. It is a long weekend....

I'm jealous that you have a running partner. Em only trains with me when we have a race scheduled.

I think you should do a test. This month, eat 172 pink frosted donuts. Then next month, eat the same number of Boston cremes. Then the next month sour dough cake, then glazed, then sprinkle, etc etc etc. Keep a diary of your progress and then at the end of the year you can compare the effects of the various kinds of pastries against each other. It's called "carbo-loading".

I don't actually have a consistent partner. lady_fox encourages me but has resisted the allure of the road so far.

moocowrich has joined me for a few runs. Hmm.. should schedule another with him...
