Good eye for a tyke. Or maybe she just snaps ALL THE TIME, and the trick is the selection/editing...

Probably both. To a degree, I think young children have a natural eye for composition.

I don't understand your obsession with being better than every 3 year old on the internets.

I'm bigger than them. It's just natural.

I disagree.

this kind of irritates me. i don't want to be harsh because she's only three, but im going to anyway.

the only way she got herself into a gallery is most likely because her parents are photographers too. all she took was a bunch of shitty snap shots.

sorry, im in a pissy mood and im sick of my talent not being noticed because of all the people out there like her who have connections born into them, even if they suck.

ARGH. fuck that little girl. hahah.

omg and she is selling 5x7's for $40. i'd rather buy $40 worth of manure and throw it all over my room than pay $40 for a stupid photo taken from a camera made for kids only.

Have you taken your portfolio to art galleries or coffee shops?
_radioactivity From: _radioactivity Date: March 27th, 2010 02:43 am (UTC) (Link)
we don't really have any art galleries near my area. and my photos probably wouldnt fit in with the coffee shops decor around here. my style isn't always too optimistic. im thinking of just blowing up some prints and selling them on the streets of philadelphia. maybe check out some cafe's there. thanks for the idea!!

So that's a no?

Yes. That second-to-last sentence.

Like ABM said, if you want yourself to be noticed, you've got to put yourself out there.

Some people get it handed to them, but nothing worth having is just handed to you. It takes hard work.

Hey, I saw a little bit of your stuff that's left public on your journal... Do you have a website or deviantArt or anything similar? I'd love to see more.

Random question - do you still have short hair? (front page photo).
_radioactivity From: _radioactivity Date: March 27th, 2010 09:11 am (UTC) (Link)
yep. im determined to keep rocking the short hair no matter how many times people think im a lesbian! my notion is this, if a girl is cute enough to actually pull off short hair, then they should. just to prove to everyone that they can rock it and others cant. haha. also, short hair is just easier to maintain and im a very lazy person.

Bull puckey.

I've seen some great kid art in my day (and I'm in the best position to see a lot of it), but her stuff is very lackluster.

Gallery showings don't say much about an artist, anyway... if they did, I'd be gutted that I haven't had a proper gallery showing since 2008.

Besides, I love your work. I don't really love hers.

That's really neat. Perhaps an interesting perspective into a 3 year old's view of the world.
