It is for days like today, where everything I try is broken and people are unavailable or reticent to fix things, that I desperately wish my gym had a punching bag.
Hmm.. but I have a house and space to put one up and reconsider my Xmess wish list.

Gah. People, people please. Get your stuff together.

At the very least, I hope that my feet are healed enough to run. And that there is a pretty person to watch on the mill ahead of me.
Mm.. gym lust.

Right, what was I posting about?

Current Mood: frustrated frustrated

Here's something I don't really understand...

There's a fair bit of young people at my gym showing off for each other. "Meat Market" you could say at times. I don't get it. When I'm working out, I barely notice the other people around me. When I'm on the treadmill, I'm usually focusing on whatever I'm listening to on my mp3 player so I don't pay attention to the fact that I have three more miles to run or my heart is going to explode any second. I'd be too easy for my eyes to drift down from the bouncing ass on the mill in front of me to my digital display, informing me of just how much longer I need to be doing this stuff.

Similarly, when I get done with cardio and I'm soaked with sweat, I don't feel my sexiest. And when I'm lifting to failure with whatever exercise, I'm just concentrating on being able to push a few more reps. So at what point am I supposed to be thinking about hooking up?

It depends on how into my run I am. But in general I find good runners sexy - both men and women - and enjoy watching them. It helps my mind clear when I'm in the middle of a run. This is becoming more true as I've been tiring of my play list.

I feel great when I'm done running. Confidence boosts and what not make me feel more attractive.. irrespective of thoroughness of sweat-soakage.

I got a new mp3 player the other day and didn't have time to build a playlist on it. I also didn't have any of my running playlists available. So I made the mistake of just dumping the top 100 songs based on playcount in itunes onto the player. About ten minutes into my run and 75 skips later I realized that the transie, vocalist-centric music I listen to when sitting around or playing video games *is* not the music I need to help me run faster, harder, better.

I'm finding psychedelic trance works best and I have very, very little of that sort of music. Maybe I'll raid iTunes this afternoon.

I would recommend New Order. It's not psychedelic trance, but I think it'd be awfully good for running on a treadmill.

Me too but the text is hard to read. I am, however, too lazy to re-make it.
