Because my day is crazy, my brain is panicked and I need something… - Portrait of a Young Man as The Artist — LiveJournal
Because my day is crazy, my brain is panicked and I need something positive to get my mind off of it all, this is a run I'm planning for the morning of Oct 20:

I am so looking forward to this.
My hotel > Champs-Elysées > L'Arc de Triomphe and back.
The following day, if I have time before we need to be on the TGV to Nice, I'm going to run to the Eiffel Tower.

Fuck. Yes.

Current Mood: rushed rushed

Be aware that the Arc is in a round-about. NOT pedestrian friendly. Even if you are just grazing it. The French do not look past their hoods, so be careful!

Oh this is really true. We got lucky when we were there and the rain made driving almost impossible so we got around fairly safe. The roads were practically empty but passing it the next day it looked like a deathtrap on foot.

Speaking of running, question about your KSOs? Were they tight when you got them and did they loosen up the more you wear them? My Flows are Extremely tight (to the point where I can only wear them for an hour before my feet hurt) and I'm wondering if I just return them or bear though the pain and let them stretch.

My KSOs are slightly loose and always have been. My feet, if anything, fit better in them given the sheer amount of muscle I've built on my feet. Seriously, a visibly large amount of muscle. Like Derek Jeter muscle.

What sort of pain? I've heard told that people can take a long while of building up to it to wear FiveFingers all the time. They work your feet far, far more than regular shoes. So if it is like muscle soreness, you may just have to slowly work up your time. If your feet pinch or something, it could be sizing. Did you get sized at a store or do it yourself?

I've been wearing my Sprints daily for a couple of months now so it's not that. It's more of a compression hurt. I can't remember if the Sprints were loose or tight when I bought them, but they're fairly loose these days. The sizing of the Flows are correct but the toes seem smaller than the Sprints. I've worn them around the house for a couple nights and they do seem to be stretching out a little, I'm just wondering if they'll stretch out enough to not be painful or if it's better to just return them and look at other options.
I think it has to do with the thicker material. They're supposed to be for colder weather, but instead of making the overall shoe larger, they made the interior smaller. Apparently, it's just enough to make them uncomfortable.

Ah, maybe. I don't have flows yet so I only know how the regular KSOs fit. they are design differently than the sprints. The site has some suggestions for fitting each model. Maybe check that out?

Eric can't remember the name of the app, but it was about 2 bucks, and he just searched for Paris Metro.

I think I found it. It is a much better solution than a paper map. Lord, they are all cumbersome...

I want to make some kind of snide comment about being like the french and running, but I'm too tired.

Have fun in France!

Your Mom's fun in France!

I don't think the French exercise. They're too busy eating croissants and being sexy.

You won't be seeing Montmartre or the Basilique of Sacre Coeur? That's a shame. If time permits Montmartre is the artist's hilltop of Paris and definately worth a look.

View Larger Map I really hope that link works.

This is just my run, not the whole plan. I don't think I could make it up to Montmarte too. :) That be over 10 miles!

We are intending to see Montmarte on Monday if we have the energy. Otherwise, Tuesday is site seeing and the Louvre. We're only spending those days in Paris before we're off to Nice for the rest of the trip.
