People hate.

But come on, the news has only been out for like 3 hours.

Probably. What'd you do yesterday?

What should I do today? My head is foggy and I can't remember all the things I was supposed to get done today.

I'm not to thrilled about this and I love Obama. I think it's a bit too soon. But how crazy is it that Bush screwed up SO MUCH that someone even attempting to go and fix it wins the Nobel prize?

International politics are already better for what he's done. People don't hate the US any more. North Korea is coming to the table. Iran is talking. Iraq is simmering down and our troops are leaving. The French like us again. :)

Surely the French being less snotty about something is an achievement!

This is all awesome.

But he was nominated 10 days into his term. That's fishy.

Unless, of course, the committee changed their rules to get him in. In any case, my respect for this particular prize has dropped to nil. It was pretty low to begin with, when Yasser Arafat won.

Yeah, I just read that too. Maybe people were supremely hopeful? Not a bad thing, really.

I think the Nobel committee is trying to influence global politics here more than anything.

Not sure hope should qualify you for the Nobel Peace Prize. I thought it was in recognition of achievements, not hope for your intentions.

Doesn't matter. I just think it's hilarious, and more evidence our systems are breaking down.

That's what I'm saying. He's great and all, and he has some big ideas and dreams, and he's certainly good at getting people to want to try, which is also noteworthy, but he still hasn't really accomplished anything yet. As if he didn't have enough pressure already.

I'm unsure about the Peace prize myself. It just seems too soon, and very much a world reaction against the polcies and the person of George W. Bush. I hope that he spends this term and the next living up to this prize, should he choose to accept it.
