Photo: So, apparently I have enough upper body strength to support most of my weight on one hand. Cool. Now, I just need the balance so when I try stupid Capoeira-like stuff with no training, I don't fall on my head.

I briefly examined everything I've eaten in the last three days.

I think I barely met 5000 calories since Thursday night, discounting activity. So.... maybe that's why I've been having motivation problems and a series of shitty runs. Not enough calories equals little energy overall but add to that my diet which eschews pretty much all simple carbohydrate means that I don't even have any quick-burn fuel for any runs. This would explain why: 1) I can still weight train with little issue and 2) I can't run a mile before my lungs and legs seemingly collapse right now.

It's not that I am trying to eat so little. I just forget to eat a lot... which is such a difference from even a year ago when nigh all I thought about was food. Neither are healthy but at least the former is more normal and a sign that my metabolism is acting more like the rest of the population insofar as I can actually go more than a hour with crashing after a meal and turning into a grumpy butt head.

Now I just need to have more convenient food sources that will provide good running fuel and no simple sugars. Maybe a stockpile of Larabars would be good. Though dates are kind of bad for my diet. But maybe there's enough protein and fiber to reduce the glycemic load?

Still. I'm determined to have a better run today. Even if it kills me.
Lastly: WHY IS EATING SO ANNOYING? Stupid hypoglycemia.

Larabars are just going to continue the problem. Nuts, dried figs and apricots, fruit, and making your own almond or flax seed crackers are the way to go with easy snacks. These crackers take about 5 minutes to make for example.

Eating is only annoying if you let it be. I like to think of it as a challenge. Like hey screw you body you think I can't eat anything but I'm going to prove you wrong you jerk. But then again I'm huge food nerd.

It's surprisingly hard to find hot dogs without corn syrup in them. We know a few brands that don't but they aren't regularly stocked at local grocers.

DUDE. I haven't even started making the beer or cheese I want to make first. Maybe next month when I'm not paying rent AND a mortgage.

What'eva what'eva! Beer is lame and cheese is hard, but a whole cured side of pig is forever!

Actually it's a really good book to own, especially for the price. You'll stop buying a lot of cured meats and sausages from the store.

Yes is this. You should for sure make your own sausage.

Then you should get this so you can smoke meat by hand. Or you could smoke your cat. Just think of the awesome that would be bacon scented cat. Bacon cat is not for eating of course because the fur is not low carb.

That's actually a pretty decent product if you're going to be doing a lot of cold smoking. It's a little buggy if you're using it a lot (gets too hot and clogs easy).

Though if you want to do some serious table smoking, you want one of these. The best part is the reservoir catch that will pool all the oil residue. Fill it with brandy or whiskey and you can have something extra delicious with your bacon cat.

What is the rest of your body doing in this picture? If it's a one-handed handstand, you have my infinite envy. If it's something resembling beija flor, that's cool too.

Also you should take capoeira. It's cheap and having a one-armed guy who can do tricks would make the group SO MUCH COOLER.

That beyjayfloor thing. Super vaguely. Like "let me kick my legs up oh crap the ground is accelerating at me" sort of way.

I've been interested in Capoeira classes but don't like how it's taught and am completely embarrassed by my body to want to exercise in public like that.
